New Ulster Scots aims to create a dynamic community of writers.


Who can join in? 
  • Experienced writers and hobbyists
  • Writers with knowledge of Scots language OR interest in Ulster Scots culture.
  • Any side of the sheugh — writers in Scotland, Ireland and elsewhere.

"It disnae matter if ye hae niver writ in Ulster Scots afore. Maist o us writers hinnae yit learnt tae be literate in Ulster Scots."


Content:
Memoir, poetry, prose... Anything goes!

"My role isnae tae learn ye tae write or tae learn ye the linguistic aspects o Ulster Scots, but rather ah'm there tae bring folk thegither."



Trial Session:
Friday 27th November 1PM - 2PM.
(Two further sessions to follow in December & January)

Long term goal
An anthology of work. 

Linguistic considerations
The focus of these sessions is creative writing and not language. Writers have complete freedom of expression and can explore their own spelling.





Costs:

This programme is free of charge.
The group will be limited to a maximum of 12 people and will be delivered via Zoom.
Booking by email for the trial session required before Friday 20 November 2020.
